Donald & Melania Trump: A love story that defied odds and time

From Fashion Week sparks to the White House spotlight and back again, Donald and Melania Trump’s marriage has stood the test of time. And cameras. Now in their 20th year of marriage, the former First Couple is stronger, more united, and more admired than ever.

Their journey began on a glittering night in September 1998 at a Fashion Week party in New York. Melania, fresh from Paris and not planning to go out, changed her mind last minute. It was a decision that would change her life forever.

“Hi, I’m Donald Trump.”
That was his introduction. Melania knew the name, but not the man. The conversation flowed instantly, from her roots in Slovenia to their shared love of travel. Donald was there with a date, but his focus never left Melania.

“He had a zest for life that was infectious,” Melania once said in an interview. “I was at ease in his company… as if our souls had known each other forever.”

Real Chemistry, Real Commitment
Despite their 24-year age difference, their connection grew naturally. Melania admired Donald’s work ethic, humor, and charm. Donald, in turn, was captivated by her intelligence, beauty, and quiet strength.

By 2004, Melania had moved into Trump Tower and embraced a more public life. That same year, Donald proposed with a 15-carat diamond ring, making headlines with the lavish gesture. The couple, known for their appearances at high-profile events like the Met Gala, were soon planning a wedding fit for the spotlight. On January 22, 2005, they tied the knot in a lavish Mar-a-Lago ceremony, with Melania stunning in custom Dior.
