Keanu Reeves opens up about a recent injury he suffered while filming his latest project.

Keanu Reeves Reveals Painful On-Set Injury
Keanu Reeves remains one of Hollywood’s most admired stars. Fans and colleagues alike often praise his kindness and professionalism. So when he revealed a recent injury, many were understandably alarmed.

A Lighthearted Appearance Turns Serious
During an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Reeves opened up about an incident that happened while filming his new comedy Good Fortune. Despite the film’s lighthearted tone, the story he shared was anything but.

The Accident: “Accident Got to Me”
Colbert began by jokingly asking what kind of intense stunt caused the injury. Reeves, known for his action-heavy roles in The Matrix and John Wick, replied with a chuckle, “No one got to me—accident got to me.”

He went on to describe the moment. It wasn’t a high-speed chase or daring leap that injured him. In fact, it happened while walking into a dressing room after filming a scene in a cold plunge with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen.

The Cold Plunge Misstep
Reeves explained that after enjoying the cold plunge, he did the usual “cold shuffle” across a carpeted floor. Unfortunately, his foot caught in a pocket of the carpet. He stood up during the interview to reenact the moment and showed how his knee buckled.

“I spiked. Just drove it into the ground,” he said. The impact shattered his kneecap. “My patella cracked like a potato chip,” he added.

Not an Action Film—But Still Dangerous
“This wasn’t an action film,” Colbert clarified. “No, it was comedy,” Reeves replied, smirking. “Comedy is hard, man,” he joked.

Recovery and Filming Continues
Back in January, Reeves was seen filming on crutches, sporting an ice pack on his injured knee. Fortunately, he seems to have healed well since.

Good Fortune stars Aziz Ansari—who also wrote, co-produced, and is directing the film. The cast also includes Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.

Keanu fans can breathe a sigh of relief—he’s doing fine and still working hard. Share this story with anyone who’s been wondering how the beloved star is holding up!
