An elderly couple had just crawled into bed when the old man suddenly let out a loud fart and proudly announced, “Seven points!” His wife turned toward him, confused, and asked what he meant. With a grin, he replied, “Football! That was a touchdown!” She couldn’t help but laugh at his silliness, shaking her head at how he managed to turn anything—even bodily noises—into a game.

Not wanting to be left out of the fun, the wife waited a few moments before letting one slip herself. “Touchdown! Tie game!” she shouted, laughing so hard she could barely catch her breath. The old man’s competitive spirit kicked in instantly. He fired off another one and yelled, “Aha! 14 to 7—I’m back in the lead!”

The room filled with laughter as their lighthearted competition continued. Each rumble, toot, and giggle turned into another score. What started as a joke quickly became a full-blown match, with both trying their best to outdo the other. Between fits of laughter, they teased each other about who had better “form.”

By the time the game ended, they were both breathless, their sides aching from laughter. As they settled down, the old man reached for his wife’s hand and said softly, “You know, it’s games like this that keep us young.” She smiled, squeezing his hand back. Their silly bedtime competition had reminded them that love—and laughter—truly never get old.
