BREAKING: 66 Passed away — just terrible

After a massive fire destroyed a well-known ski resort hotel, killing 66 people and leaving scores more injured, Turkey is in mourning.

Around 3:30 in the morning, a fire started in the restaurant of the twelve-story, four-star Grand Kartal hotel in the Bolu resort of Kartalkaya.

According to Turkey’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, the tragedy claimed 66 lives and injured at least 51 more. The cause of the fire is still being looked into. According to Gov.

Abdulaziz Aydin, who spoke to the state-run Anadolu Agency, two of the victims died after frantically jumping from the building. According to private NTV television, some people attempted to use blankets and sheets to climb down from their rooms.
