Donald Trump adds these cities to military-backed crime crackdown

Donald Trump is going all in on his crackdown on crime in major cities. On Tuesday, he suggested to a gathering of military leaders to use these American cities as “training grounds” for the military due to “a war from within.”

Donald Trump met with top generals and admirals in Quantico, Virginia, on Tuesday. That the president has made defending the homeland a priority is no secret. Now he has taken another step towards his view of safety.

Donald said that defending the homeland is the military’s “most important priority,” according to The Hill. According to the news outlet, he flagged that military leaders could be tasked with assisting in federal interventions.

Two of the cities Trump mentioned were Chicago and New York City, two Democratic-led cities.

“They’re very unsafe places, and we’re going to straighten them out one by one,” Trump said, per The Hill. “And this is going to be a major part for some of the people in this room. That’s a war, too. It’s a war from within.”

“I told [Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth], we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military — National Guard, but our military, because we’re going into Chicago very soon. That’s a big city with an incompetent governor,” he added.
