Tragedy in Encino: Longtime American Idol Music Supervisor Robin Kaye and Husband Found at Home

Following the untimely death of Robin Kaye, the celebrated music supervisor who spent over ten years influencing the sound of American Idol, the entertainment industry is in mourning. During an LAPD welfare check on Monday, Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were discovered inside their Encino residence.

Although there are currently few specifics, authorities are looking into the case as a double homicide. The investigation is still ongoing, and no arrests have been made as of yet.

A Startling and Unexpected Finding
After not hearing from the couple for a few days, worried relatives contacted the authorities to request a wellness check. Officers saw indications of potential distress close to the entrance when they arrived at the house in the affluent San Fernando Valley neighborhood.

Police broke a window to get in after getting no response and noticing blood close to the front door. They found Thomas Deluca and Robin Kaye inside, both of whom appeared to have been shot.

At the scene, the couple was deemed unconscious. Police have stated that the case is being handled as a targeted act rather than a random incident, even though the precise time frame and motivation are still unknown.

An earlier disturbance a few days earlier
Neighbors claim that this wasn’t the first time the police had been called to the house, which furthers the mystery. The same address had been the scene of a potential break-in attempt just four days prior, on Thursday.

Reports state that a suspicious person, possibly armed, was observed attempting to enter the house. When a police helicopter arrived and searched the property, no evidence of forced entry was discovered.

Officers were informed by Ezoic neighbors that they witnessed someone jumping the fence. The area was cleared after an air and ground unit search failed to find any suspects.

Now, investigators are trying to find out if the earlier incident has anything to do with the tragic events that were found on Monday. Although detectives are looking over surveillance footage and talking to local residents, no official connection has been established as of yet.

Continued Research and Community Watch
The motive is still unknown, and no suspects are currently in custody. The investigation is being led by detectives from the LAPD’s homicide division, who have appealed to the public for assistance.

Anyone with information regarding suspicious activity that has occurred in the past few days near the Encino property is being urged to come forward by authorities. Even minor details could provide insight into what transpired.

The home did not appear to have been ransacked, according to police, which raises the possibility that the incident was personal in nature rather than the consequence of a botched break-in.
